Dive into the stars
This charity event is in aid of the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation. The Foundation supports the school in Tarfaya, Morocco. This village, located between the ocean and the desert, had a profound impact on Saint-Exupéry's career as an aviator and his literary work. It was here that he wrote Courrier Sud and drew inspiration for The Little Prince. The village is home to the world's first museum dedicated to Saint-Exupéry.
During this special evening, come and discover the immersive experience “The Little Prince, the Immersive Odyssey” at the Carrières des Lumières, where Saint-Exupéry's watercolors and words come to life. Roses, foxes, and snakes guide us on a journey from planet to planet, outside of time and space.
Then continue the evening with stargazing on the castle esplanade!
Under the magnificent arch of the Milky Way, which will stretch across the sky from east to west that night, the Astronomes Amateurs du Delta will take you on a journey to the giants Saturn, Jupiter, and Uranus, the Andromeda galaxy, the Hercules cluster, and other deep sky objects. The Great Summer Triangle will be visible for the last time this year.
Live observations with traditional binoculars and telescopes will be complemented by images taken with electronic tools. The constellations and the tales and legends associated with them will hold no more secrets for you...
This charity event is organized in collaboration with the Town Hall of Les Baux-de-Provence, the Carrières des Lumières, and the Association Astronomes Amateurs du Delta based in Les Baux-de-Provence.
